Wetness and Walking in January
To start this year I went for a walk, with the family, across the open loveliness of Oxford’s Port Meadow. The general idea was to walk from Wolvercote, across the meadow to Walton Street in Oxford. Once there we would have a warming drink at the Jericho Café and see what delights were coming up at the Phoenix Picturehouse.
We managed to walked about 100 feet before the flooding blocked our way, and since I was the only one wearing sensible footwear, we did the sensible thing and gave up.
We did get to see The Boy and the Heron at the Phoenix. It’s a fabulous film which is impossible to sum up easily, and therefore can’t be ruined in a review.

This year I have a significant birthday (hint: not 21) so expect some sort of attempt to use it to give me more focus and maybe even replicate my 50 at 50 challenge, which was even more of a failure than the New Year’s walk.
